It sounds like an ingredient that you’d find boiling over in a cauldron, but witch hazel can be purchased at pretty much any drugstore or grocery store. It’s used in traditional medicine and made from the bark and leaves of a plant in the Hamamelidaceae family (try and say that ten times fast), which contains a natural astringent compound that tightens your pores and keeps dirt out.
Witch hazel might as well be magic though, because it clears up acne, burns, bruises, inflammation, insect bites, and itching, and can even replace your everyday toner. The best part is that it’s one of the most affordable skincare products you can buy; a big bottle won't ever cost you more than $10.
Thayers Witch Hazel is a Supergreat holy grail, and so many of you swear by it that we just had to spread the good word.
