When Korean skincare brand Dr. Jart+ hit the U.S., the beauty community had some questions; what's the meaning of the plastic baby faces on their packaging? Why does one sheet mask cost $12? Why am I walking to the register with five of them in my hands?
The line was created by Dr SungJae Jung, a dermatologist who opened his first skin care clinic in Seoul in 2001. For three years, he developed his ingredients, and after joining forces with businessman JinWook Lee in 2004, he launched a small collection of BB creams and Dr. Jart+ was born.
Four years later, the brand was certified by the USDA and their first boutique opened in New York City. They've since won 25 Beauty Awards for products like their Beauty Balm SPF 45, the Peptidin Pink Energy Effect Serum, and the Cicapair Tiger Grass Nightly Re.Pair Mask. Nobody wonders about the creepy packaging anymore, because their stuff seems to work.
We want to know the dirt (or lack thereof); click Add Your Review and tell us what you think of your favorite Dr. Jart+ product. Does the brand live up to all the hype?
